Moro unseals explosive testimony of Palocci

Federal Judge Sergio Moro unsealed part of the informant deal of former minister Antonio Palocci, adding fuel to an already incendiary campaign only six days from the presidential election. In exchange for reducing his prison term by two-thirds, the former Workers’ Party (PT) bigwig made grave accusations against his old colleagues, including that both the presidential campaigns of Dilma Rousseff cost R$1.4 billion, nearly four times the amount officially stated. The unsealed part contains Mr. Palocci’s narrative of political appointments made by the PT and other parties in Petrobras as a way of raising campaign funding and facilitating kickbacks. The former minister said about 90% of presidential decrees enacted in the four PT administrations involved private-sector interests and bribes.
